Planning the future of Snowdonia
The Snowdonia National Park comprises an area of 823 square miles incorporating dramatic landscapes that are the product of both natural forces and human activities. The area is recognised for its outstanding natural beauty and cultural landscapes.
Hyder Consulting has been working with the National Park Authority to deliver the National Park Management Plan and the Local Development Plan providing Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment services. The commission has also included the preparation of Screening Reports in accordance with the requirements of the Habitats Directive.
The Local Development Plan will provide a development strategy for sustainable development and conservation needs for the National Park until 2022. The National Park Authority is currently consulting upon proposed focussed changes to their Deposit Local Development Plan and the accompanying Sustainability Appraisal and Habitats Regulations Assessment Addendum Report.
This webpage provides a link to the Addendum Report and also provides documents that have previously been consulted upon including the SA Report and the HRA Screening Report for the Preferred Options Consultation for the Local Development Plan (originally consulted upon between January 4th, 2008 and March 28th, 2008) and the SA Report and the HRA Screening Report for the Deposit Local Development Plan (originally consulted upon between March 23rd, 2009 and May 11th, 2009). Please note that these documents have not been altered since the original consultations but are provided for completeness.
